Mills Goes Wire To Wire at PGA Professionals Championship

Titleist the #1 Choice Across Every Major Equipment Category at the PGA Professionals Championship

Tony MillsSeptember 18, 2009; As the country's leading 50 PGA Club and Teaching professionals gathered for the PGA Professionals Championship at The Sandhurst Club in Melbourne Victoria, the momentum and unmatched success of Titleist across every major equipment category was evident once again.

From golf balls to drivers, fairway metals, utility metals, irons, wedges and putters, more players made Titleist their choice in equipment at the 2009 PGA Professionals Championship than any other.

Not only were more players relying upon Titleist equipment with overwhelming success at the showcase event for PGA Club and Teaching professionals, West Australian Tony Mills was winning with it. The 38-year old PGA Teaching professional at Wembley Golf Complex in Perth, shot a final round 1-under 71 to finish at 4 under 212. Mills (ProV1, Vokey Spin Milled wedges) posted four birdies over the final nine holes, including holing a twenty foot putt for birdie on the last hole of the Champions layout at Sandhurst, to close with a 32 and secure a one shot win.

Graham StockleyBelmont Golf Club Professional Graham Stockley of New South Wales finished runner-up for the second successive year. A Titleist Brand Ambassador, Stockley relies upon the Pro V1x golf ball and a full complement of Titleist clubs for his tee-to-green success. In finishing first and second at the PGA Professionals Championship both Mills and Stockley earned exemptions into the 2009 Australian PGA Championship to be contested December 7-10 at Hyatt Regency Coolum.

"I set some goals at the start of the year which were to qualify for this event and I did, to win some events in Darwin which I did and to win this event and I have. Now that I have made the PGA Championship I'll be setting a few more but I won't be saying what they are right now" said the former Australsian PGA Tour player from Wembley Golf Complex in Perth.

Tied for third place on two under were Royal Sydney Golf Club Teaching Professional Ken Druce (ProV1, Vokey Design wedges) and Gold Coast Country Club Professional Davey Simpson (ProV1) with Titleist Brand Ambassadors Kris Barkway, Balgowlah Golf Club, NSW and Peter Shaw from Colonial Golf Club, QLD finishing tied for fifth place on 216.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the 2009 PGA Professionals Championship with 47 players out of the field of 50 trusting Titleist for their success.

Titleist also swept the driver (19), fairway wood (16), utility metal (15), iron (23) wedge (81) and putter (18) categories.
