To combat this threat, Acushnet is launching a worldwide security label program as the next step in the fight against fake products. The security label has robust security features including a truly unique feature that requires the product to be in hand to be authenticated.

The security label will be located on all Titleist clubs, starting with the launch of the 910 metalwoods in the Fall of 2010. Following the launch of the 910 product, all new Vokey® wedges, Scotty Cameron® putters, and Titleist® irons will feature the label. The security label will not be applied to SureFit™ fitting clubs, replacement shafts or limited edition Scotty Cameron® Circle T™ putters.

USGMC stands for the United States Golf Manufacturer’s Council, which is a council under the Sporting Goods Manufacturing Association. JGGA stands for the Japanese Golf Goods Association. The USGMC and JGGA fully support this program.
- What are the security features of the label that I should look for? Show Answer

1. Color shifting block: There is a block at the end of the label that reads "USGMC JGGA". The block changes from copper to green when rotated.
2. Unique serialized number: Each label will feature a unique serialized number that can be found under the words "Certified Authentic" which can be found in the middle of the label. This unique number will not repeat.
3. Polarized film decoder: The words "GenuineAuthentic" appear as wallpaper at a 45° angle when looking at the label through a polarized film. The wallpaper will also change from positive to negative when rotated.
If the above security features are not present on a Titleist 910 metalwood or later released product, especially the "GenuineAuthentic" wallpaper seen through the polarized decoder, you may have purchased a counterfeit club.

The security label contains several layers of technology to protect the label from being compromised. The most robust security feature is truly unique, it requires the club to be in hand to be authenticated. You will need a polarized film to decode the "GenuineAuthentic" wallpaper which is the highest level of security that the label offers. If the "GenuineAuthentic" wallpaper is visible under the decoder film, you can rest assured you have purchased an authentic Titleist product.

The choice is up to you. Please note the label is not meant to be a distraction to your game. The purpose of the security label is to authenticate the club at the initial point of purchase. However, we recommend leaving the security label on the club, in case you decide to sell your club in the future.

Maybe. If you purchased a newly introduced Titleist 910 metalwood, or later released product, it should have a security label according to the guidelines above.
