In an impressive display of confidence and control, Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott won the World Golf Championships event at Firestone Sunday trusting a Titleist Pro V1 golf ball and a bag full of Titleist equipment.Scott, 31, closed out the tournament with a bogey-free 6-under 65 that included a back-nine 31 and a birdie on No. 18 to capture his eighth PGA Tour victory and lead a 1-2-3 finish for Titleist golf ball players.Scott was also one of four Titleist Brand Ambassadors to claim victories around the globe Sunday, including Scott Piercy's one-shot victory at the Reno-Tahoe Open, the 13th victory by a Titleist Brand Ambassador on the 2011 PGA Tour.In total, Titleist golf ball players have won 103 times across the worldwide professional tours in 2011, nearly seven times the nearest competitor with 15 and more than all competitors combined. At Firestone, Scott took charge with an eight-birdie, zero-bogey 8-under 62 on Thursday and and never let up, especially on the back nine.He played Firestone's final nine holes in 12 under for the week, making just one bogey over that stretch during the four days, hitting his Titleist MB irons close and rolling in his Pro V1 golf ball with his Scotty Cameron Kombi Long putter.On Sunday, Scott chipped in for birdie from the side of the par-3 12th with his Vokey Design Spin Milled wedge then rolled his Pro V1 in from 30 feet for birdie on the par-4 14th to take a three-shot lead. He dropped in a 15-footer to save par on the par-3 15th and finished off his wire-to-wire victory with a 4-footer for birdie on 18."The way I closed it out, I was really happy," said Scott, who finished at 17-under 263, topping a leaderboard that featured eight Titleist golf ball players in the top 10, including the runner-ups, Titleist Brand Ambassador Rickie Fowler and Pro V1x Loyalist Luke Donald. Both Fowler and Donald finished in 4-under 66 for 13-under 267 totals."It was a great day on the golf course for me. I went to the range and had the best warm-up of the week. … (My swing) felt great in the warm-up, so I was confident going to the course," Scott said. "I just had to kind of control myself a little bit and stay patient and not get ahead of myself. So went out there with a good strategy… and ended up playing a really solid round of golf."
For the week, Scott finished fourth in putts per greens in regulation (1.62) and T-9 in greens in regulation (70.8 percent).
Scott was one of 39 players in the event that relied on Titleist golf balls for their success, three times the nearest competitor with 13 and more than all competitors combined. Titleist also was first in iron sets (20); and sand, lob and approach wedges (61).

Piercy vaulted to the top of the leaderboard after course-record 9-under 61 in Round 3 at at Montreux Golf & Country Club that included eight consecutive birdies on the front nine for a score of 28. He closed with a final-round 2-under 70 for a 15-under 273 total."I always thought I could do it and it was just a matter of doing it," Piercy told PGATour.com. "Now I did it."Piercy was one of 92 players in the field that played a Titleist golf ball, more than seven times the nearest competitor with 12 and more than all competitors combined. Titleist also was first in iron sets (34); sand, lob and approach wedges(115); and putters (56).

• CHAMPIONS TOUR: Titleist Brand Ambassador Jay Haas tapped his Pro V1 golf ball in for birdie on the final hole at TPC Twin Cities to win the 3M Championship and earn his 15th Champions Tour victory.Haas, who started the day one shot behind the leaders, closed with a 4-under par 68 to finish at 15-under 201 total, one shot ahead of Titleist Brand Ambassador Peter Senior, Pro V1 loyalist Tom Lehman and Pro V1x loyalist Kenny Perry.He two-putted from 30 feet on the par-5 18th for the winning birdie."I don't think I've ever been not nervous on the final hole with a chance to win," Haas, who hit over 90 percent of his greens in regulation for the week, told PGATour.com. "I hope I continue to be that way."Pro V1 loyalist Tom Watson and Pro V1x loyalist Mark O'Meara tied for sixth, as Titleist golf ball loyalists secured six of the top seven positions on the leaderboard. • KOREAN TOUR: Pro V1x Loyalist DoKyu Park captured his fifth-career crown, winning the weather-shortened KPGA Johnnie Walker Open and leading a 1-2-3 finish for Titleist golf ball players. The tournament at Ora Country Club was reduced to 54 holes after a typhoon hit the island of Jeju on Sunday.
Park finished with a 12-under 204 total, one shot ahead of Pro V1x loyalist SungYoon Kim. Pro V1x loyalist
SoonSang Hong finished solo third, another two shots back.
Nine of the 11 players who finished among the top 10 and ties relied upon a Titleist golf ball for their success.
Titleist was the most played golf ball at the event with 114 players, more than six times the nearest competitor with 18 and more than all competitors combined.
