Kerr Captures 19th LPGA Tour Title in Hawaii

Titleist golf ball loyalist Cristie Kerr (Pro V1) closed with a 6-under-par 66 en route to a three-stroke victory at the LPGA LOTTE Championship in Oahu.

Kerr fired a tournament record at 20-under-par 268, which included a third-round 10-under-par 62. In that round at Ko Olina Golf Club, she birdied seven of the last eight holes.

“It feels amazing,” Kerr said. “On Friday morning I wasn’t playing too well and then I just found something and was able to turn it on and I just kept it going. I can’t remember two and a half days after I struggled with my swing feel, and then made so many birdies in my life. It was an unbelievable run.”

The win marks Kerr’s 19th career LPGA tour crown and her first since the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship in 2015.

She has posted top 10 finishes in her last three starts and is now within six points of qualifying for the LPGA Hall of Fame.

“I’ve always thought about it,” Kerr said, referring to the Hall of Fame. “I’ve come this far and I don’t plan on quitting golf any time soon. Sky is the limit. If you shoot for the stars you may get to the moon. That’s the old saying.”

Alena Sharp (Pro V1) finished alone in fifth at 16-under, a shot ahead of fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist and No. 2 in the World Rankings, So-Yeon Ryu (Pro V1).

Kerr topped a leaderboard on which seven of the top 10 finishers relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.

Congratulations, Cristie!
