    Sydney,

    Hi

Just curious to know if this is standard practice as this was my first fitting for a new set of clubs.

After my fitting by a recognized Titelist fitter, I requested a copy of the specs, as being a tech guy, I wanted t know exactly what I was being fitted for.

To my surprise, I was denied access to this information, and just given a vague verbal clarification.
I was told he was only able to give this information to the pro shop I would be ordering my irons from.

After ordering them from my pro shop, I asked for same information to be given to me....again denied, stating they need to protect themselves as I could just shop around for the best price.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but isn't that my right if I wanted to shop around for the best deal?
I was still going to get the AP1 714's, so what does it matter to them who I buy them from?

All I wanted to know was what was the lie angle I had been fitted for, the steel shafts being supplied, as well as the shafts for my hybrid.

I was told....Diamana blue stiff and s300 shafts.  and lie of 2 degrees.
This tell me absolutely nothing and has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.
I feel a game of deception is being played out and would be extremely hesitant to purchase Titelist in the future, let alone recommend them.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated

    Hi Lozza,

It is the Fitter's prerogative how they charge their players in the Fitting process.  Most Fitting Professionals will complete a fit for a set of golf clubs and build the cost of the fitting session, which usually runs for about an hour of the Professional's normal lesson time, into the final price of the clubs.

If the Professional doing the fitting session does not charge you for their time then they may withhold the club specs until purchase is complete.  Again it is purely at the discretion of the fitting Professional and is usually discussed at the time of booking so that any misunderstandings can be avoided later on.

I recommend you discuss your situation with your fitting Professional and I'm sure that the specs will be provided to you at the time of purchase.

    Regards

    -Dave

    Hi Dave,

I was informed there was no cost/charge involved in the fitting.
