He went on to hit his approach within feet of the hole.

"I was trying to hit it as close as I possibly could," Ernst said in the post-round interview. "Just kind of if I stuck to my game, then whatever happened, happened. If I win, great."

The 22-year old rookie went on to birdie the closing hole of regulation to close with a 2-under par 70 and an 8-under par 280, qualifying him for the playoff. Ernst then converted a par on the first hole of the sudden death playoff to enter the winner's circle.

"Yeah, this feeling is unbelievable right now. Just at the beginning of the week not even knowing I was going to be in the field," added Ernst. "I was fourth alternate last time I heard, and then a couple people dropped out so I got in. All week long it just felt really?? my swing felt good."

Ernst was playing only his ninth PGA Tour event and was No. 1,207 in the world ranking when he entered the field. The victory at Quail Hollow earns Ernst a two-year PGA Tour exemption, gets him into The PLAYERS Championship this week, and qualifies him for two World Golf Championships, the PGA Championship, the Hyundai Tournament of Champions next year at Kapalua and the Masters next April. And he also jumped to No. 123 in the latest World Golf Rankings.

Fellow Pro V1x loyalists Robert Karlsson and Lee Westwood tied for fourth place, two shots out of the playoff, as three of the top five finishers trusted Titleist golf balls for their success.

Titleist was the most relied upon golf ball in the field of 156 with 106 players, more than five times the nearest competitor with 20. Rumford started the final round one shot clear of Ilonen, but thanks to a string of birdies, he closed with a 4-under par 68 and a 16-under 272 victory total.

Rumford, who won last week's event in South Korea in a sudden death playoff, now has five career European Tour victories and vaulted to the top of The Race to Dubai standings with this week's win.

And this weekend, five champions trusting a Titleist golf ball displayed a few that were particularly thrilling: a pair of breakthrough championship performances, a team effort, and a playoff-ending eagle.

At the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Pro V1x loyalist Billy Horschel outlasted the weather and outperformed the field with a final round 8-under 64 for his first career PGA Tour victory. Titleist Brand Ambassador Brett Rumford (Pro V1x) made a dramatic eagle on the first hole of a three-way sudden death playoff to win the Ballantine’s Championship in South Korea, for his fourth European Tour title. On the Champions Tour, the duo of Titleist Brand Ambassador Brad Faxon (Pro V1x) and Pro V1 loyalist Jeff Sluman captured the Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf following a final-round 7-under 65 and 23-under total. Finally, Jose de Jesus Rodriguez entered the winner’s circle for the first time in his career when his Pro V1x golf ball dropped for a birdie on the second hole of a three-way, sudden death playoff at the Roberto De Vicenzo Invitational Copa NEC.

With three more official victories, players trusting a Titleist golf ball have now won 46 tournaments on the worldwide professional tours in 2013, more than four times the nearest competitor with eleven and more than all other competitors combined.

This is Team Titleist, let’s wrap-up the week…

• • •

PGA: Zurich Classic of New Orleans

Winner: Pro V1x loyalist Billy Horschel

Horschel sealed his win at the Zurich with a 27-foot birdie putt on 18, edging playing partner D.A. Points (Pro V1x), who also birdied the hole, by one shot.

"27 feet in the hole, first victory. You can't ask for anything else," said Horschel. "It's still pretty unbelievable."

Although the win marked Horschel's first PGA Tour title, he had been knocking on the door with three top 10 finishes in his past three tournaments — tying for second in Houston, tying for third in San Antonio and tying for ninth at the RBC Heritage a week ago. He has also made a PGA Tour-leading 23 straight cuts.

Horschel made a string of six straight birdies that ran from the seventh through 12th holes, moving him to 7-under on the round and 19-under for the tournament. Points birdied the 10th through 13th holes to stay on Horschel's heels.

Titleist was the most relied upon golf ball in the field of 156 with 104 players, more than six times the nearest competitor with 17.

And to put a punctuation mark on the festivities, Jason went out and captured another PGA Tour title by winning the HP Byron Nelson the following weekend.

To complete his 2012 résumé, Jason added eight top 10 finishes to his two victories and also played in the Ryder Cup where he compiled a 3-1 record as a first-time member of Team USA.

So, with all these firsts and major career milestones coming in 2012, Team Titleist was eager to check in with Jason to find out what motivates him each and every week and at what point he knew he could make it out on tour.

Watch the exclusive Team Titleist video above to hear what Jason had to say.

Blog Post: From Concept to Championship: Adam Scott's Futura X Prototype and a Sneak Peek...

(Please visit the site to view this file)

CLICK IMAGE ABOVE TO LAUNCH GALLERY

Masters champion and Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott has been playing Scotty Cameron putters for over a decade. After numerous trips to the Putter Studio, he and Scotty came up with exactly what he needed in his quest to find the perfect putter for his setup.

Following several rounds of design, Scotty crafted the Futura X Prototype specifically for Adam. A one-of-a-kind putter for a one-of-a-kind player. It provides the high MOI (Moment of Inertia) and path that Adam was seeking. While the design of the putter creates a high MOI, Scotty took the putter one step further by adding more stability to the face with perimeter weighting. High MOI combined with perimeter weighting gives this putter a unique feel and performance.

The putter is milled from aluminum and includes a balance bar and four tungsten weights that are positioned under four adjustable stainless steel weights in the far four corners of the putter for maximum MOI. The putter is 49″ in length, has a 79* lie angle and 3* of loft. The finish is called “Frozen Titanium” and helps knock down glare.

And as the buzz continues to build on the putting greens around the PGA Tour, Scotty and his team continue to design more Futura X Prototype concepts and variations for other players. Titleist Brand Ambassador Jason Dufner is one of the players who was recently taking one of these prototypes out for a test drive.

Click on the image above for a closer look at Adam's putter along with a sneak peek of some of the latest concepts from Scotty's Putter Studio.

Blog Post: Pro V1x Loyalist Bernhard Langer Leads 3-Win Weekend for Titleist Golf Ball Players

After trusting their Titleist golf ball to three championship performances on three continents Sunday, New 2013 Pro V1x loyalists Bernhard Langer, Angel Cabrera, and Jake Roos stood above the competition, trophies in hand.

Langer outpaced his competitors with a final round 5-under 67 to win the inaugural Greater Gwinnett Championship by three shots. He was getting a higher ball flight without increased spin and seeing longer carry distance - which would be beneficial to him at Augusta National and going forward," added Tuten.

The new 913D3 made its tournament debut in Adam's bag at the Masters, and it routinely set him up for birdie chances throughout the week.

His solid driving was crucial in shooting a back-nine 33 to get him into the playoff, which he won in dramatic fashion.

Here is another quick look at the specs on Adam's new driver...

Model: Titleist 913D3
Loft: 9.5º
Shaft: Graphite Design Tour AD DI 8
Flex: X flex
Length: 44.75"
SureFit Tour Hosel Setting: A•1 (neutral)
