The Winning Setup: Daniel Pearce at the Queensland PGA Championship

For the third consecutive week on the Australasian Tour, the action went to a sudden death playoff and once again, a full-line Titleist player came out on top.

Titleist Brand Ambassador Daniel Pearce (New Pro V1) captured the Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship with a par on the third extra hole over Titleist golf ball loyalist Matthew Millar (New Pro V1x).

The pair finished regulation play tied at 19-under-par 261, three shots clear of their nearest competitor, Titleist golf ball loyalist Adam Burdett (Pro V1).

In fact, the final leaderboard featured nine Titleist players among the top 10 finishers.

Pearce, who was chasing his first career victory, owned an 8-shot lead after 54 holes before recording a final round 2-over-par 72, while Millar raced up the leaderboard, closing with a sizzling 6-under-par 64. Pearce closed out his maiden win with a par on the third extra hole.

The win gives Pearce an exemption on the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia for the remainder of this season and 2018, security he said he's happy to have for the first time in his career.

“I haven't been exempt going in to a year before so it really helps,” said Pearce. “Winning is winning, it's awesome for the confidence. Hopefully I can build on this and have a really good year and jump on to a main Tour somewhere."

Congratulations, Daniel!

Titleist golf ball loyalists have now won four of the first five events on the 2017 Australasian Tour.
