The Winning Setup: Alexander Levy at the Porsche European Open

Titleist Brand Ambassador Alexander Levy (Pro V1x) captured the Porsche European Open on the second hole of a sudden death playoff, converting a dramatic 30-foot putt to secure the third European title of his career.

It marked Levy’s first-ever playoff victory and his first title since the 2014 Portugal Masters, which was reduced to 36 holes due to torrential rain.

"It's unbelievable," Levy said after the victory. "On the 18th putt I saw the line and I said to my caddy, 'I've got it'. I felt good, I felt the speed and I putted it very quickly.”

Levy finished regulation play at 19-under-par 194 in Bad Griesbach, Germany, as thick morning fog on each of the first three days of the event forced officials to shorten the competition to 54 holes.

Levy, who was coming off a T-7 finish at last week’s Italian Open, felt that a return trip to the winner’s circle was close.

"I have a very nice feeling and I worked a lot the last few weeks to have this one,” said Levy. “I was close last week and this week I stayed patient and I started to play really good on the back nine."

At 26, Levy becomes the youngest Frenchman in history to claim three European Tour titles.

Third place was shared by Titleist Brand Ambassador Robert Karlsson (Pro V1x) and Titleist golf ball loyalist Michael Jonzon (Pro V1x) after respective final rounds of 65 and 68 moved the Swedish duo to 16-under-par, three shots behind Levy’s mark of 19-under.

Titleist Brand Ambassador, Bernd Wiesberger (Pro V1x) finished solo fifth at 15-under-par 198.
