Here is the ultimate question for me on deciding which 2017 ball to play...

Does the 2017 Pro V1X spin more; less; or the same as the 2015 Pro V1X on iron shots and around the green?

The 2015 was perfect for me as far as spin goes on all shots.

  2. I somewhat have the same question out there. I have hit Pro V1 for as long as i can remember, but ready and playing the V1x for one round I am thinking of switching. Just wanted to get some feed back from other players.

According to poster in some of the stores, the Pro V1x spins more than the Pro V1. It's like the Pro V1 and Pro V1x swapped. I currently have the new Pro V1x's and I spin them pretty well. Don't hold me to that, but hopefully that'll help in making your decision on your next ball. Either way you can't go wrong with either.

Did you used to play the Pro V1 regularly and have now switched to V1X or have you always played the V1X?

I was a 2015 V player last year and late in the season I switched to the X. While the 2015 X launched higher, it still gave me distance off the tee with lower spin and great greenside spin and control. This year I went out and tested indoors and on course the 2017 V and X and noticed the spin on the X was a touch higher on high lofted clubs. The greatest awesome difference I saw was faster ball speeds across the board, spin rates down on long clubs, and spun & scratched on greens more with high lofted clubs. These puppies dropped and stopped! Sticking with the X as I'm experiencing a dramatic difference in my game.

I attended a Titleist ball fitting yesterday. From what I was told, the new PROV's spin the same. I may be wrong, but that is what I was told. P.S. The first 9 I played with the new PROV1x, I hit 8 greens in regulation, made 3 birdies and 6 pars. 33. Not bad for a slacker like me. I have never found a better ball. Ever. The new PROV line is beyond amazing. I never thought it could get better, but it has. Congrats to the entire TT team. Amazing accomplishment!

I played V1x in 2015 but was told that my driver swing speed 92mph was too slow to properly compress the X & that the V was better suited to my swing speed it got in my head so I switched to V's for 2016 the V's were fine, now I don't know which is the right 2017 ball for me and I'm completely spun! Is my club head speed better suited to one ball or is that wrong info?

    David B...
It is not about club head speed to fit you into a certain golf ball or whether to choose the V versus X. It is a total game golf ball fitting to find which ball will enhance the areas of your game to improve performance and lower scores.
