As time goes on, I keep finding more assumptions that are just that.  I found out early that off the rack clubs don't work.  Then I found that wedge fittings do make a difference.  Playing the same ball all the time does count for a few strokes every round.  I had assumed that exotic shafts were only for low handicappers.  Like most mid-high handicap players, I've had problems with 3/5Ws.  The S+ doesn't launch enough and the M+ had spin issues.  I found an exotic with mid-spin/mid-high launch that works with both woods to improve launch and carry w/o the dreaded side spin issues.  At retail, the shaft cost more than the fairway.  Since the shaft wasn't in stock with my fitter - if you aren't satisfied at a fitting with the available options, it is worth doing some homework to see if you can go back and have Titleist ship some of those options to the fitter.  Especially if you are willing to commit to upcharge shafts, it is your money and your game.  Expect more with Titleist because you can.
