If I choose the A3 setting and sole the club my understanding is if I don't then square the face the loft remains at standard, but my question is whether the lie woulld still change to 1.5 degrees upright. Is this correct? Thanks.

Before everyone jumps in to explain and winds up making things more confusing, Gabe does the best job explaining this than anyone I’ve heard or read: youtu.be/tKPY51evEh0

Peter, thanks This video is very well done explaining the mechanics of loft and lie changes but it doesn't t confirm my question of final lie angle and points out that I may have not worded my question correctly. Understanding now that a change in loft results from a closing of the face and then rotating the club until the face is square to our target and thus, If one decides to keep/maintain the closed face (to correct a slice) then the loft doesn't change with my question being whether while maintaining the closed face does the lie change still take effect. As an example in the A3 setting the face is changed to 1.5 degrees closed and if the face isn't rotated to be square to the target the loft remains at .5 degrees open (i.e. standard), but, does the lie still change to 1.5 degrees upright?
