  1. Today I played the new Pro v1 2017 golf ball. The temperature was around 45 degrees outside. The new pro v1 is definitely longer off the tee, though I did not see much difference between the prior generation pro v1 and pro v1 2017 around the greens. Though I do think the prior generation pro v1 is softer off the putter. I would say that mid irons held the line very well in the wind compared to the pro v1 prior generation ball. I'm going to retest again when the weather is warmer to see of I get similar results with the new pro v1 vs pro v1 prior generation.

I had a similar opinion as well. I was surprised at the distance of the tee. It's hard to get a feel for the ball when your whole body is freezing! I can't wait for a little warmth, so I can put these balls through the ringer!

I love the previous gen Pro V1. It was the best ball for me.

The new Pro V1 has definitely sparked some interest. It sounds like the previous gen but longer and from your review a touch firmer off the putter but with same spin charcteristics around the green as previous gen. So it seems like it could be a winner.

Prov1x player here. I haven't tried the new model yet, I have to get the 2016 out of my bag, first. I did come to this discussion to see what people think of the new 2017 model. Weather here in Phoenix has taken a positive turn. Played last weekend and it was 75 degrees.
  5. It sounds like Titleist swapped old PV1 / PV1x characteristics with the new 2017 models. It sounds like the new PV1 is the lower spin ball compared to the PV1x. Whereas previously the PV1x was the lower spin ball. Is this true?

I played the previous ProV1. Does anyone know how much, if any, yardage difference there is with a 100 mph CHS? I tried the PROTO last fall and didn't see much difference, but would like to know others experiences.

Finished a round today with the new Pro V1 today

-Way more durable got 17 holes out of the one ball before I put it in thr middle of a dam(usually change ball every 3-6 holes pending)

-Feels slightly firmer than previous model (not in a bad way)

-Ball flight I found more true and stable coulda just been how I was striking it today tho.

-288M longest drive that I remembered to track using golfshot app today, keep forgetting to do it after all tee shots. 267M was my other drive I remembered to track (hole before). Take the distance as a grain of salt as lots of variables aren't control mearly noting my experience with the ball. CHS generally around 115mph fyi.

-Not a whole lot of wind present today so can't give much feedback on that aspect of the ball

Will provide more learnings as I continue to play the ball if the discussion warants it.
