  1. Hi,

I just got my hybrid today and I was putting in the weights to the surefit hosel when I realised that a 14g draw weight was included instead of the 12g draw that I was fitted for.

I just put in the 14g draw weight.

Would it make any difference or should I be asking for the 12g weight?

Swing weight will definitely change. If you were fitted for the 12g weight, then you should go back to where you ordered your club and have them order the 12g weight for you. In the mean time, you can play with the 14g draw weight installed and other than the swing weight you shouldn't have any issues.

The extra 2 grams will add 1 swing weight point-the manufacturing tolerance is usually +/- 1 swing weight point so your club could possibly be the same as the one you were fitted with- if the performance of the club is satisfactory I would keep the 14g weight.

While it wouldn't hurt to check with your fitter, there are at least a few reasons why the heavier weight may have been specified. These include a shorter than standard club length, heavier grips (for example, oversize, jumbo, some cord styles), and even specific shafts due to weight profile (not just the overall weight).
  5. The thing is I'm aggressively hooking the ball with the 14g draw weight.

I've contacted my fitter and he agreed that only 2g extra would make me do this so he's sending me the 12g one.

    Thanks guys!!
  6. these discussions are very interesting. my TT fitter specified SureFit CG Weight Settings for my 917 D2, 917 F2 and 818 H2 all "use default". didn't really give much thought until this discussion thread. i have not looked inside, but assume the neutral weights are standard weight, whatever that means? the extra weights are: a 12g D2 driver draw/fade weight; a 14g F2 draw/fade weight; a 14g H2 draw/fade Hyb weigh. are these the correct/standard weights????
