  1. So I just broke down and purchased the AP3's w/TT S300 Black shafts. Prior I was playing AP2 (716)'s with TT Dyna Gold S300 shafts.

My trajectory is normally high... With the AP3's it's really high... The 7, 8,9,P & 48 are like hitting in an elevator shaft. That said... I haven't lost any distance in fact they are much longer than the AP2's.

    7 - 170 8- 160 9-150 P - 130 48 - 120

My concern is I play in windy conditions... I hate have to judge how many clubs of wind to add or deduct.

    Any suggestions on shaft choice?

The AP3 is so different from the AP2 and enough different than the AP1 that working with a fitter to maximize that club is essential. Among the almost 50 shafts not counting flexes, it is almost impossible to suggest which will be ideal for you. My rule of thumb into the wind is 1 club for every 10 mph sustained speed. Fortunately, I don't get enough practice on crosswinds so I don't have a knock-down shot to minimize lateral winds. I just aim really far away from water if the wind blows that way.

Were you fit for your AP3s with the S300 AMT Blacks? If you were, then go back to your fitter and go through the process again to see what a different shaft would do for your ball flight. If not, then find a certified Titleist fitter in your area and go get fit.
  4. Congratulations on the new sticks. Three words for you: Practice, practice, practice.

A different shaft may help with trajectory, but you will still have to do that dreaded 8 letter word that some of us don't like to do.

Did you try the C-Tapers in your Fitting?

Just my opinion but I agree with Barry B. Go back to a fitter and find a different shaft. I'm guessing a really good Titleist fitter has had experience with this before.
    Good luck!

Mine go high too but don’t balloon. I can knock them down
As Seve use to say, “ I hit that ball over the wind”
