    Medicine Hat,

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

    1. I have been actively exercing to get stronger and doing stretching to increase my flexibility. I am curious to see the effects on the golf course. 2. Reduce my handicap from 19 ( fault identified and now to consistently implement the changes). 3. Correct my driver fault from last year.

    Good topic Hari...

My goal for 2019 is to work on my short game and particularly my bunker play.
Many of you will recall I had a major meltdown last season with my game, and managed to get my full shot swing back into where it belongs. Now it is time to refocus my efforts on the short game. For me - once I only have a half swing, the mind seems to take over and the swing is no longer fluid. I need to work on that. Also - my bunker play is only somewhat decent when I am on the practice range. It seems that once I get out on the course the mind takes over again ! I am really hoping that once I get the short game working where it is a natural motion, I will be able to carry that confidence into the bunkers.
The ultimate hope is that I can maintain a single digit handicap for another year :)

Lower my 11.9 factor and to try again to get my wife into golf.
  5. Dedicated, regimented practice outside of normal play. I find I start off the season well practicing twice a week but taper off and lose a bit late in the season. Short Game is the focus I think for this year.

    1) Play more.
I only got in 8 full rounds last year and four 9 hole rounds.
    2) Get my 10.0 index back into single digits
    3) Save up for a TS2

My goal is to break 80. Last year I broke 90 a few times, 2 rounds being 87 which is my lowest so far. I know I give up a few strokes due to stupid decisions and being to brave so I will try and ease back a bit on those to accomplish my goal.

It is great that you both realized and accepted that sometimes you lose strokes due to bad decisions. I often think back to when I first heard about "smart golf". That is the process of making the right shots at the right time and playing to your strengths. You won't believe how many strokes you can save in a round by using an iron off the tee on some shorter par fours and taking the trouble out of play, or using your three wood off the tee on a par five and accepting the fact that shorter in the fairway is better than longer in the trees :) Good luck working towards your goal of breaking 80. I look forward to hearing about how you finally did it along with a picture of your ball with 79 (or better) written on it for keepsakes !!!!
  9. My goal is to break 80 and fix my driver faults as well. I’m also looking at keeping my bag the same for the year as well. Going to be hard with all the great stuff coming
  10. I’m hoping to break 80 this year and maybe try some tournament golf. Also I am hoping to Play with my daughter more. I feel like this might be the year she gets into it
