Titleist fittings in the Pittsburgh Area other than 'retailer'?

  1. I've had the same irons (DCI 990s) since they came out and wanted to finally upgrade. Took about 5 years off (2 kids, new job, yadda yadda) but now I want/can play more. I've read mixed reviews of fitting stories at places like GolfTEC and Club Champion, and really would like to find an official Titleist fitting in the Pittsburgh area if possible, but wasn't sure if there was a certain time of the year when these were. Every time I've checked on the site, it's nothing in the area.

I've called 1 of the 2 GolfTEC's in the area and they don't carry Titleist (maybe just in LH...oh yeah, I'm stuck being lefty too!) and I've read stories about how Club Champion will try to weasel in 'exotic' shafts into their fittings.

PLUS, I have a friend who says they can get clubs at cost due to them working at a course (but they don't have any fittings scheduled at least until Spring)

    Any feedback would be appreciated!

At this time of the year north of the deep South/Southwest there won't be many demos or Titleist Thursday events. There are 2 Premier fitting sites if you look up fitters on this web site and expand the search filter to 100 miles. One was 57 miles (in PA) and the other was 71 mile (in OH).

The Premier fitters will have all the LH fitting heads. As a LH, I use the one (and only) WI Premier site. It will be a tossup if the Premier site will discount the fitting price with the sale of the clubs to match the cost of the fitting plus the price you can get the clubs from your buds. I generally don't pay for a fitting with a purchase, but that is up to the location. I'd guess they would do fittings weather permitting at least through October, maybe up to Thanksgiving.

If you can be patient until May or June, you might get a Titleist Thursday fitting for n/c and take your order anywhere. I can't tell you if there will be a Titleist Thursday within 100 miles of Pittsburgh.
  3. Thank you for the response! Sure, I'm itching to spend some money... But what's another 6 months or so when it's been 15+ years!

Looking for Titleist Thursday for the Sacramento, Ca. Area.
  5. I had a fitting on Sept. 7th at Tam O’Shanter golf course near Sharon, Pa. My intent was to have a fitting through the golf course which is a premier fitter, since no Titleist Thursday’s were available. When I called them to schedule, they informed me the local Titleist rep was having a fitting event on the 7th. I would talk with them about any future events, or fitting through Tam O’Shanter.
  6. I'm a left-hander living in Hershey, Pa., desperately trying to find a pro shop or retail outlet where I can get fitted for a Titleist driver. But I've found no place within a 50 mile radius so far that has left-handed demo clubs. Can somebody help me out?

Unfortunately, being LH requires a little more effort. Caves Valley in Owings Mills, MD is 58 miles and a Premier Fitting site. I've sent my son to the 1757 Club, another premier site in Dulles, VA, but that is 98 miles to you. 1757 club has indoor bays open to the outside so they fit year-round weather permitting. For driver off of mats, turf interaction is not an issue. The next closest as mentioned above is in Sharon but apparently more than 100 miles. If you check with the sites listed as Titleist fitters in your area, they may single days of fittings like the Titleist Thursday option with the rep bringing in the "big" box of heads, the lower half being LH. You may or may not get lucky this year. Usually getting on their mailing list works best - including deleting all the events you didn't ask for.
