  1. Can anyone tell me which are the most forgiving between the AP1 716 and 718 irons and does the 716 irons have a bigger head. I’m 28 handicap. Thanks in advance. John H.

Pretty much the same. Very minor changes between 716 and 718. If you are picking up a used set, might be harder to find 716 that isn't pretty worn out. Also you might consider doing a free Titleist Thursday fitting so you know what lie you need and the best shaft for your swing. It can make a huge difference, even for a high handicapper.
  3. Thanks Dale.
  4. Thanks Dale V. No one doing titleist fitting anywhere near where I live. I can buy a new set of AP1 716 fix steel shaft for £450. I currently have titleist O/S DCIs. Someone told me the 716s had a slightly bigger club head which l had on my DCIs O/S. Do you know if this is correct as I found my DCIs nice to play off a 28 handicap. I have just started playing again after upper back problems and want to purchase a more up to date set of irons as apparently golf irons are much better these days.
  5. Had fitting today Don O and they were very helpful and interesting when they showed me the stats he said the AP1 716 were slightly better and more consistent for me. Not much in but was told that I was definitely hitting the 716s slightly further and straighter. Have ordered a new set £749 5-pitch wedge plus £83 extra for SW. Well pleased. Thanks Don and everyone who posted for their help. Next realistic target get handicap down to 20.
  6. Sorry lads. £450 plus £83 for sand wedge.

Titleist has been tweaking the heads and updating the shafts from release to release. As Dale said you may find a better configuration than you find used, left over inventory, or counterfeit sets by getting fit for 718’s.
  8. Thanks Don O.
