I’ve been playing stiff shafts in my drivers, fairways, and hybrids, and light stiff steel or steel fiber in my irons for years. At 65, I feel I should get a shaft between S and R for my next driver. I don’t have a chance to do a fitting for a while, so I was wondering which of the stock shafts might fall between S and R. My club has demos that I might try until I can get to a true fitting. Thanks, all.

Mr. Bill, there are no standard for the stiffness of shafts. I know that Fujikura made some SR shaft in the evolution speeder. SR does not mean senior but stiff regular.

You will find that some regular shafts are more stouts than stiff ones.
The easiest way is to do a fitting.
