Hi, today I tried out the Tamiya X-27 Clear red color,because I‘ve recently lost the middle dot. I‘m pretty sure the cold weather was to blame. As you can see, the color is absolutely the same, the middle dot is a little brighter,but after a little time and usage there will be no difference anymore. Hi, 1st post, have a '99 Newport with a small section just below the shaft that needs a paint touch up.can some one tell me what the colour is and where I might get it. I live in Australia

I used Tamiya acrylic paint and a needle paint bottle, works awesome and easy to control the paint flow with the different size tips.

Never had the desire, but my son wants to do his with team colors when he makes the high school team. Might try to play around on one of my not Scotty putters!

I am not using a Scotty, but I have custom painted my putters (using Odyssey 9 style...currently gaming the ProType IX 9 HT) and irons (only png for me) for several years. I didn't take up the game until 1998. I started custom painting my stuff around 2010 (because of various factors and life events, I have only played about 5 times in the past 10 years).

I recommend Citristrip as a remover. It is much easier to use than mineral spirits or acetone because it is a gel. There is much less chance of it running into undesired areas. For paint, I use Testors, ModelMaster (made by Testors), Tamiya, or the Sharpie oil paint pens, depending on the application and color desired.

i recently custom painted a Scotty Cameron Pivot tool. I used a "mastersish green" after removing the red from the cherry bombs.

I'm certainly no club repair guru but I've done a few wedges with Testor and toothpicks-they turned out great.

I use Tamiya and small syringes from Walmart. I always explain what I'm doing with the syringes so they don't think I'm a drug user.

Does anyone know the colour/code to match the original colour on a Scotty Cameron GoLo s5. I have seen Testers and Tamiya 81027 Acrylic X27 Clear Red mentioned here but are these a close match and is a lacquer finish also needed?

Nice job! What technique did you use on the topside alignment aid (the cross)? Did you remove the red paint or did you paint over?

I have tried acetone and paint remover on the red, and it doesn't budge.

The paint itself is not the key. Keep a little acetone and a q-tip handy for removing the excess around the edges and the job is easy. I restored the gold and white paint on an old Coronado two, and changed the black line to silver on an original black golo select using only basic paint pens from Michael’s, and they not only look great, but have lasted for years.

Here's a formula for Tiffany paint

Testors model master
1. Turquoise
2. Glass White
3. Sublime Green

Mix the white and turquoise 50/50
Add the barest trace of sublime green to get it right. It will probably take you a few times to get it right. If you have a Tiffany's box you can compare the color.
The paint will dry a tiny bit darker then it looks when wet.
