Played with my new PhantomX 8 today and had my best putting round every (28). I think it was a combination of the putter and really “putting with purpose” / focus. Absolutely love the alignment marks, but do miss it he trademark red dots!

  2. It seems like this putter is a hit with many players! Great to read about your success!

I added the Phantom 8 to my bag yesterday. I had my first practice session with it and what I really like is how solid and consistent the strike is. Normally with a mallet putter I struggle with getting consistent distance especially on fast greens. So far it seems that this is not an issue with this putter and as long as the putter continues to hit is solid I'm sticking with it over my Newport.

I have the mid bend model. Does anyone have any opinion on the no bend, low bend and mid bend options and why you would choose them?

    Thanks!

@steve,my guess would be the different bends would affect the toe flow of the putter

Exactly. I'm most comfortable with more toe flow than most mallets offer. But I need the longer depth to help visualize the putting line once over the ball. Being LH, then the 7.5 with more toe flow than the 7 is a better choice for me. Previous LH SC mallets were all face balanced. A Newport-2.5 (LH) went exactly where I aimed it - I would just aim it wrong.
