  1. I have a putting mat that I rarely use as I find I lack inspiration and get bored very quickly.

Does anyone have any suggested drills that keep it interesting so I am actually motivated to putt?

    Thanks

I got to the same place with my putting mat. What i found worked for me was adding some padding under the mat to create breaking putts and then added in some gates the ball had to go though - it gets very frustrating but add a different dimension to practise.

    AJP,

Winter is when I do most of my putting practice on the mat.

Start line and distance control are key ones for me and I use the PuttOut mat, mirror and pressure putt trainer but you can use two sleeves of balls tee's and other bits to save some of the cost.

Check out some putting drills on Chris Dennis's YouTube channel www.youtube.com/watch

not very exciting but all i do is use my Kitchen Plinth and run my putter alongside it.

very boring hahaha but keeps the putter head straight though the stroke.

    happy putting!
  5. I recently got the puttOUT pressure putt trainer and it’s hands down the best training aid I’ve ever bought.

I honestly can’t recommend them enough. It’s helped me work on my distance control, grip .. everything.

Anyone who struggles with putting will find huge benefit from it. I just can’t wait to get back out on the course

With all this time at home I too should be spending some time on the Putt Out mat! In the first lock down I managed to improve a bit and worked on my stroke, not so much in lock down V3.
  7. AJP,
I'm not the one to advise you - I too have a remarkably short span of attention when it comes to putting practice and anyway, I'm not convinced that mat practice translates to grass.
I've not picked up a club of any kind yet this year... I'm pretty certain it will sneak up behind me and bite me in the end.

PuttOut mat for me and their Pressure Putt trainer. I find it rather addictive, trying to get the ball to actually sit in the hole. I also have a mirror and set up my phone to record stroke.
