Right now I am still carrying my 3 SM5 wedges with my 714 MB irons. 52°/08 F grind, 56°/10 M grind, 60°/04 L grind. Grooves still excellent and I am retired playing 4 rounds a week all year long. Will be looking at the SM6 soon though

I have two sm5's. 56/10 s grind and 60/8 m grind.

Looking to replace them. What are the differences between the sm6 line and the TVD?

I have been reading all the posts on this thread and the replies are all over the chart. I was always taught from my elementary school days that wedges are to be from gap, sand to lob, and no more than 4° apart from one another. I have been reading on here that some are using the stock iron sets gap and sand wedge then adding a lob wedge from Vokey. In reality what is happening is there is a larger degree gap between using stock wedges to using Vokey. Which equates to yardage gaps that can not be fulfilled and you are constantly trying to overcome. Having to compensate that gap creates inconsistency in yardage. That being said, it might be best for all to use the full set of wedges from Vokey to achieve a consistent gap variance that equates to consistent yard variance. If you want to achieve the next level of your game, then it is best that you change completely to a full set of Vokey wedges from your gap to sand and lob. That way you retain that 4° separation between your short game. The only time usually you go beyond the 4° separation is between your PW to Gap wedge. As most stock iron PW is set at 47°. So if your Vokey gap wedge is 50, 54,58, then your OK. But if you use 52, 56, and 60 then the degree variance between PW and gap is 5°. I have always used this rule of thumb in making my decisions. In my opinion, using stock iron gap and sand wedge along with one Vokey wedge is hindering your ability to achieve short game excellence. Create your stock irons from 3-4-5 iron through PW then complete your set with 3 Vokey wedges of your choice with the correct grind and bounce for which your course demands and you will see a great improvement in your short game control. Don't settle for par or bogey, demand birdie or eagle directly from your short game improvements. I personally have always used 52, 56 and 60 with the lowest bounce possible due to my course demands. But I am one of few that does not use driver nor any woods at all on a course. I strictly use irons from 3 through lob wedge with my Titleist 714 MB and Vokey 52°/08 F grind, 56°/10 M grind and 60°/04. Using only irons throughout a golf round everyday really makes you even stronger to achieve our or better. Not to mention always leaving the ball in play. Nothing worse than giving up a shot or two to a way ward driver miss and having to declare a lost ball and having to retee for 3 and double bogey or worse. Learn to control your game and know your limitations. Peace to the golf god's.

I start looking to replace a wedge once I notice the ball not stopping on a shot where I know it should. This usually happens around the two year mark for me. I usually switch them out intermittently but now they are all wearing out pretty evenly so I'll replace all four soon.

Ap2 owe 46*, vokey 50*, 54*, 58*. 58* will be replaced first as this is my go to around the greens & bunkers. 54 is more for pitch shots, bump and runs and anything 80-115 so this is a close second. Don't use 50* much, but if I take it out I know I will need it every other hole. I replace (54*, 58*) every 2 years or so depanding on wear and performance. Try to use my older wedges for long range sessions and use newer ones for chipping and on course

All have standard loft and a 1 degree flat lie.

Doing a iron fitting in couple of weeks so then can pick up the pw.
