Leading the Way at the 2018 U.S. Amateur Championship

The United States Golf Association visits California's Monterrey Peninsula this week as 312 of the game's top amateurs compete for the prestigious title of U.S. Amateur champion. Pebble Beach Golf Links plays host for the fifth time in its storied history (along with an assist from Spyglass Hills Golf Course during medal play).

First played in 1895, the U.S. Amateur is the USGA’s oldest championship and is open to amateur golfers with a USGA handicap index less than or equal to 2.4.

Play began Monday, August 13 with the first of two stroke play rounds, which determined the 64 players who have advanced to match play. These matches will be contested exclusively on Pebble's 7,040-yard, par-71 layout.

And as these players attempt to join the long list of golf legends who have raised the Havemeyer Trophy, 76% of the field is trusting a Titleist golf ball for their success. That's five times the nearest competitor with 14% and more than all competitors combined.

Titleist also topped the hybrids (62) and irons categories (128). Vokey Design wedges led the way in the sand, lob and approach wedge (488) category and Titleist Scotty Cameron putters topped the putter (109) category.

The U.S. Amateur Championship is just one of several marquee national amateur events where the top competitive amateur players in the world put their trust in Titleist. Go inside those numbers below:
