Pro V1 Player Moves to No. 41 in the World with a Win in His Native South Africa

The winner of the European Tour’s Alfred Dunhill Championship trusted a Pro V1 golf ball to a four-shot victory following a windswept week in his native South Africa. It was his first professional win in his home country, moving him inside the Race to Dubai’s Top 10 (No. 9) and to No. 41 in the World Ranking.

  • The 26-year-old, who broke through on the European Tour last year with a win at the Andalucia Masters in Spain, made three back nine birdies en route to his fourth consecutive round in the 60’s (69-68-68-69) and a 14-under 274 victory total.
  • He finished four shots clear of four players, including the 47-year old Richard Bland (Pro V1), who was seeking his first career European Tour victory, and Adrian Meronk (Pro V1x), the 54-hole leader who was vying to become Poland’s first European Tour winner.
  • Quoting the winner: “It's incredible. This tournament has been close to my heart since I played it for the first time. It's always been a tournament I wanted to win and to pull it off today is really, really special to me. I'm proud of myself to stick in there and to have pulled it off round here.”

Titleist was the overwhelming field favorite in the golf balls category with 115 players (74%), more than six times the nearest competitor with 19. The win was the 14th for Titleist golf ball players on the 2020 European Tour, twice as many as the nearest competitor.
