Good shot for a Shamble
By William M On 18 May 2012
We were playing a "Shamble" golf tournament for the Oakland Zoo. On the par 4 15th hole at Lake Chabot Golf Course I hit driver up the middle, and the ball took one nice bounce and went over a hump towards the flag. When we got near the green the ball was nowhere to be found, I figured it went through the green (very short par 4), but I looked in the hole as I walked by and the ball was in the hole! Everyone in our group got an albatross on the hole since we could use our best drive.
As I tried to figure out how large this bar tab would be for getting a hole in one at a tournament, I sent a message to my daughter. She was not impressed. She replied "took you long enough!" You see, she had her first hole-in-one in the very first round of golf she ever played when she was 12 -- at the par 3 course at the very same Lake Chabot Golf Course. So she doesn't think it's that hard.
