The last major of the PGA TOUR season is here and Team Titleist is in Charlotte, N.C. to bring you all of the action from Quail Hollow Club.
While it was relatively quiet early in the morning, things picked up quickly as players arrived to the course and got right to work making final preparations for the major finale of 2017.
This week it’s a familiar venue for the players in the field as Quail Hollow has been a regular stop on TOUR having played host to the Kemper Open from 1969 through 1979, the PaineWebber Invitational from 1983 through 1989, and most recently the Wells Fargo Championship since it debuted in 2003.
However, there are few changes this week as the course underwent some changes in preparation for the PGA Championship. These changes include the complete overhaul of four holes, three on the front side and one on the back, and all of the grass on the greens were replaced with Champion G-12 Bermuda.
Another new twist to the week, players are permitted to wear shorts during the practice rounds, as you will see when you check out some of our favorite photos from Day 1 in the gallery below.
We hope you enjoy the photos and don’t forget to stay tuned to our social media channels throughout the week (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) for even more inside coverage.
Bonus Coverage: Eight Titleist Club Professionals and golf ball loyalists earned a spot in this year’s PGA Championship. Meet these Titleist Staff Professionals and check out the Titleist equipment they’ll be trusting this week at Quail Hollow.
