    Is a GT1 7 wood REALLY going to balloon/go too high if I put in an 8x shaft and move the heavier head weight to the front instead of playing GT2? And/or even if I lower loft to 20.25* from 21*?

    I just do not like the GT2 7w size/shape at all…

    Have you checked the length of shafts compared to the other irons. It is interesting that your friends had the same experience. Also the flex of the shaft may be a big part. To stiff less distance.
