RC is right on, launch & spin are effected more by loft of clubface than by type of shaft. 8.5 lofted D2 probably are better option based on your info in thread.
I think you are right on the money. Make sure to go low bounce if you're a slider, high bounce for a digger, and more rounded soles if you like to open the face varying degrees.
