The size will have nothing to do with getting more speed/distance.

The D3 will be a smaller head obviously by 15cc, with a more pear shape. It'll give a mid/high launch with med/low spin.. Very middle of the road head for most people. Pretty darn forgiving…

You're actually the second player to ask my about that old, trusty, VS Proto.  I suspect you'll find very similar results in performance and feel. 

It's possible the old 909H 15, and 19 can replace the performance of your current line up.
