Hey guys,
I got fit for a 910 D3 when they first came out last year. I have the Titleist Ahina 72 S (it's also supposed to be tipped 1", not sure though because they sent me a D2 at first and I had to return it). I hit this set up pretty good, possibly a touch higher than I'd like and my miss is left. My cousin recently got an Oban Kiyoshi (70ish grams X stiff tipped 1 inch) in his 8.5 D3. My driver is 10.5 playing 9.75. We were at the range tonight and I started hitting his for fun and holy cow, it felt like the Kiyoshi in his was a lot hotter than my Ahina and sure enough I was carrying his driver as far as mine despite the decrease in loft. I was also blocking his quite a bit because it was so stiff but it still was going farther than my Ahina. Now I really want to try to get my hands on a Kiyoshi. What do you guys think? I don't remember my exact #s from my fitting but I'm pretty sure my SS was 105-110 and I was carrying it about 270 but my spin numbers were still higher than we would have liked.
Thanks,
Dallas
Thanks for response. I have access to a launch monitor so I think next week I'm gonna try to get on it with my Ahina and also throw my cousin's Kiyoshi in my head for a better comparison to the Ahina. I think with those numbers I'll be able to figure out if I want a Kiyoshi and what variation I need. I had the red Matrix that came stock in the 909 drivers. Not sure if thats the one you referenced. It was good but I just needed a lower launch/spin shaft. The Kiyoshi seemed to be launching lower than my by Titleist Ahina although my cousin's driver is 8.5. I'll have a much better idea when I put his shaft in my D3.
