My lie angle for png irons is Yellow Dot. I have a set of Titleist DCI 981 that I have set 1/2* upright from standard Titleist lie angles (4 iron is at 61.5*, 5 iron is 62.5*, etc; I temporarily set the 8 iron and 9 iron at 64.5 and 65, respectively and the PW and GW are 65). My wedges are as 64.75 for the 50-08 and 65 for everything else. When I bought the set (used), I did a lie board and they were set back to standard lie angle. I hit them straight but not as clean as I would like so I adjusted the lengths by 1/2" (the 4-9 irons currently measure standard length and the wedges are 35 1/4") and uprighted the lie angles 1/2*. If you do the calculations the way I have them set up now, the 4 iron thru 8 iron match , the 9 iron would be 1/2 deg flat, and the W would be 1 deg flat vs Yellow Dot. What would Titleist generally set the lie angles at for a person of my height and WTF?

I think I may have answered my own question.... I have a tolerence of about 1/2 degree upright from standard (1/2 deg flat from standard is not good). I hit a 9 iron dead straight with +1/2* but hit it straight and a bit cleaner with a standard lie. I found this out after telling the fitter to have my 9 iron match the lie angle on my 50-08 (which is 35.5" and I found out somehow it reverted back to 64* lie angle). I also had the 8 iron set back to 63.5 and I hit both rather cleanly and straight; consequently, I took the 5-7 irons and had them set to standard and the PW and 54-11 to 64.5* and I left my 62-07 at 65* (found out the PW and 54-11 hit about 3 yards left with a 65 lie angle this AM; I was able to hit them straight and a little farther by choking slightly).
