The reason we have the capability of offering 4° upright is because we have heads that are already forged at 2° upright.  Although the heads are forged and can be bent, once we bend more than 2°, we take the chance of crimping the chrome which could start to flake and will rust under the chroming.

  3. i was fitted by my local pga pro about 10 years ago using the titleist fitting system for 1 degree upright and 1/2 inch long. i have purchased numerous sets of irons from you that were ordered directly from you to come in to those specs and everything has worked out great. i just recently purchesed my third set of ap2's over the last four years. i have been taking numerous lessons and have found that i am back to a standard set of clubs as far as fitting goes. i took my ap2's model 710's into my local shop and asked him to bend them back to standard lie from the 1 degree upright. when i went to pick them up i was told they were 4 degrees upright and that he bent them back to standard. they look way different than my first set of ap2's that i bought from you at 1 degree upright. should i be concerned with the fact that he bent them so much that i may have chrome issues?

The flaking will not affect the performance of the clubs, just the looks.  Before you have any issues (and you may not), you may want to ask him/her what their policy is and how they will handle it if it starts to flake due to crimping due to their bending.  Once a club has been worked on outside of us, the warranty is handled by the shop as any work outside of Titleist voids our warranty.
