I am considering switching from regular to stiff shafts and was wondering what swing speed is desirable for stiff shafts. I think i am in between flexes with a 95 mph swing speed. I know that shaft flex straightens out balls flights that are a bit erratic. For example I know that when png first came on the market they sold their clubs with X flex shafts. Of course, they didnt tell anybody or put it on the shaft but people hit them straighter, shorter, but straighter. I was wondering if a switch wil be for the better or play regular flex for as long as possible.
Proctor,
One thing to keep in mind is to try to find the stiffest flex that is within your swing speed range. The shaft characteristics to consider are flex, weight, and torque. Your swing speed would be on the lower end of a stiff flex, so you may want to consider some of the lighter weight stiff flexes or weaker (higher) torques.
Hope this helps!

Cameron, what would be some good examples of a light weight stiff shaft?
Proctor,
Some good examples to consider would be the Mitsubishi Bassara or Diamana ilima. They both weigh between 48-59 grams (depending upon flex) and have softer tip sections.

Arent these graphite shafts? I was looking for lightweight steel shafts for irons
Proctor,
Good light weight steel shafts for the irons would be some of the Nippon shafts. They offer the 850 GH, 950 GH, and NS Pro 970 that range from 87-107 depending upon what flex you want. They promote more of a mid-high launch angle, so if you were looking for a lower ball flight, consider the Dynamic Golf SL shafts.
