Shaft question for Driver, 3w, Hybrid.

    Hi,

    This spring, I was fitted for a driver - 913 d3, Diamana D+, 72 X-flex.  I'm not a numbers nut, but I seem to recall my swing speed being 108-110 during the fitting

    Unfortunately, my entire bag was stolen from my garage a few nights ago.  Thankfully, with home insurance, I'm able to replace the whole set for the price of the deductible.  I'd like to replace the driver exactly, and I'm planning on replacing my relatively old 3-wood and hybrid with the 913Fd (13.5*), and 913H (19*).

    I got fitted for irons yesterday, and I hit some woods, too.  Although I was able to hit the 913Fd, the sales rep I worked with did not have X-flex shafts available to properly fit me.  He recommended that I simply apply the driver shaft to the other two clubs.

    Is this a reasonable recommendation?  I have a buddies weekend coming up and I would like to get the set ordered ASAP, so I'm reluctant to try to find a fitting center with proper shafts.

    I notice the Diamana D+ Hybrid X-flex shaft comes in two weights (92 and 102).  Any idea which may be better?  Should the 3-wood get the exact some shaft as the driver (trimmed, of course)?

    Contact your original fitter and find out what he/she recommended so you can duplicate your order.  If you registered your clubs on your TT site under your profile, we will also be able to find those specs for you. 

    The standard weight on the hybrid is normally the 92 gram, although if you load the shaft and use weight for your tempo, the 102 might work better.  If you cannot find out what your specs are, let us know where you are located and we can recommend a fitter who has the X flex shafts.

    Thank you for your response.  I got in touch with the pro who hosted the demo day.  Although he didn't fit me, I ultimately ordered the club from him and he had record of the sale, so I'm able to duplicate my driver order.

    Thank you for the information on the Hybrid shaft.  I remember during the fitting that I was borderline between a heavier S-flex and a lighter-to-mid weight X-flex.  After trying both, he said the X-flex was definitely better.  This would seem to indicate the lighter Hybrid shaft would be best.
