  1. I have been told the 718 AP1 irons are 1* upright, compared to most other makers.

Is this true? It looks like it from the specs, but I’m not sure if Titleist does something else to offset that 1*.

I’m asking because I’ve always been fitted to standard lies and I’m wondering if I’ll need to customize the AP1 to bend 1* flat. Thought?

As part of a fitting, the lie would be specified based on your swing. Regardless of what other clubs use. Another advantage with a fitting is getting the best shaft, shaft flex and shaft length for you. None of this will be optimal based on an empiric comparison to other clubs.

There are no standard lie- for 7 iron Titleist is 63, png 62 and miz 61.5- the only offset to lie is to change the length of the club e.g decrease by 1/2 inch = 1 degree flatter playing lie. Great advise to follow from Don.
  4. Check the spec's on the Titleist website. All the lie angles for all the irons are in the charts.
