Playing wedges that have been fit for your swing and course conditions is the fastest way to lower your score. It’s why the world’s best focus so much of their time on dialing in the bottom of their bag – and it’s among the many reasons why Vokey Design wedges have been #1 on tour since 2004, a leadership run that is eclipsed only by the historic run of the Titleist golf ball on the worldwide professional tours. The trust of the world's best validates the performance of the product, but it also validates the service commitment and skill of Master Craftsman Bob Vokey and Vokey Tour Rep Aaron Dill.

When NEW Vokey Design SM9 wedges debuted on the PGA TOUR at the Sentry Tournament of Champions earlier this year, not only did players immediately put more SM9’s in play than any other wedge, but Titleist Brand Ambassador Cameron Smith recorded the lowest 72-hole score in relation to par (34 under) in PGA TOUR history to win the 2022 opener on Maui. And in continuing his success with SM9, Cam lifted the Claret Jug in St. Andrews, claiming his first major championship with an historic final round at the Home of Golf.

In fact, all four men’s major champions in 2022 had Vokey Design wedges in the bag. The last three major champions each carried three or four new SM9’s:

    • The Masters champion: Vokey Design SM8 50.12F, 56.14F, WedgeWorks 60.06K
    • Justin Thomas (PGA Championship): NEW Vokey Design SM9 46.10F (@ 47.5), 52.12F (@ 52.5), 56.14F (@ 57.0), WedgeWorks 60.06K
    • U.S. Open champion: NEW Vokey Design SM9 52.12F, 56.08M, 60.08M
    • Cameron Smith (Open Championship): NEW Vokey Design SM9 46.10F, 52.08F, 56.08M, WedgeWorks 60T

But you don’t have to shoot 65 nor be a major champion to benefit from a Vokey wedge fitting. You don’t have to be an expert in bounce, turf interaction or grinds. You don’t have to sort out your irons or driver first. You just need to be ready to have a lot more fun with your wedge game.

The truth is partial wedge shots are difficult to control even for the best players in the world. Most players benefit from carrying four wedges, which leads to tighter distance gaps and more full swings, and custom fit wedges will maintain or improve your 'go to' shots as well as the weakest shots in your short game.

We want to know: Have you ever been to a Vokey wedge fitting? Tell us about it below! How did it impact your game? If not, do you plan on going to one in the near future?

I was fit for wedges at TPI in 2019 and then again last year at the fitting event at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach. Both experiences were great and will continue to go through fittings to dial in the wedges.

The fitting was a result of getting new irons both times and wanted to get the bottom of my bag in line with the irons.

One of the best things from TPI with my fitter Lucas Bro was suggesting a 4th wedge. Prior to that I went P, 54/56 and 58/60. Lucas suggested adding a gap wedge, take out the 3 iron/hybrid and helped my game so much.

I have T100s now and have 44, 48, 53, 57. I use every one at some point during my round. I
  3. I too carry 4 wedges, the P wedge that came with my AP2 irons and a 60, 56 and 50 Vokey wedges. I was fitted by Aaron at TPI. Depending on the course I play I may use all 4 during a round.

I voted yes, but I’m not sure if the fitting I went through was as thorough as a formal wedge fitting.

After being fitted for T100-S irons, my Titleist fitter had a little time to set me up with some nee SM9 wedges too. Can’t wait for the order to come in!

I was recently fit at the Fairhaven facility & was blown away by the staff. New wedges just arrived & I played one round. Love them & the care in the fitting.

After receiving my 2021 T200 irons, I went to a Titleist fitting to test Vokey 48.10 SM9 vs. the T200 approach wedge. Trackman numbers determined SM9 performed better and ordered the Vokey with the same shaft, and loft/lie settings as irons with Wedgeworks stamps. I can't wait until I put it into play.
  7. Yes, I have been fitted but have been waiting for 4 weeks now for the order to be delivered and am told it will be another 2 weeks at least. My fitting and order never showed up in my online profile, customer service emails went unanswered and now the links in the order email don't work anymore. All for basically standard set up wedges, no customization. Can't say I'm thrilled with Titleist right now.

Had a full bag fitting at TPI Oceanside about a month ago. Glenn was out of this world fantastic!! Just received my new irons and wedges and I’m already seeing a huge improvement in distance control/ proximity to the hole from 130 yards and in. I simply cannot recommend the tour fitting at TPI enough!! The experience was absolutely incredible, I will never buy clubs again without getting fit at TPI. THANK YOU!!

Besides making sense of the alphabet soup designating grinds, the tips to improve technique have been as valuable as the recommendation for grinds and loft. With more consistent results, I’m getting a better feel on touch.
I have toss in to a plug in on the SM9 58 low bounce K grind. Have already pulled off green side shots that my SM8 S grind was not reliable enough to attempt. On just the first round with the wedges in the bag.
  11. I was fit for Vokey SM9’s at a stand alone fitter called Swing Fit in Bunker Hill, W.VA. I will never use them again. They cut the shafts too short based on my measurements, and I have no idea what shaft they used as there are no labels on them. A total rip off! I won’t even go back to have them correct their disaster.
  12. Yes. I was fit at TPI by Lucas Bro. He is an absolute expert at fitting, especially wedges. I ended up with T100 for the 5-9, plus SM8's in 46.10F, 50.12F, 54.14F and 60.12D. Going with a Vokey 46 vs the T100 PW was a revelation. So much more accurate and versatile. I recently upgraded to SM9's in the same config.
  13. I would love to get fit for Vokey wedges-I have a SM7 sand wedge in the bag. The main problem is that they’re just too expensive and out of my price range.

Yes, fitted for SM9 Wedges (48 deg, 54 deg, 60 deg) earlier this spring by my long-time teaching pro, Paul Sanders. Each was then bent appropriately by my fitter to match my swing characteristics. They work great - am saving pars on a regular basis when missing greens and shooting under 80 most of the time.
  15. Never been fitted for vokey wedges. I use cleveland if I'm honest find them very hard to beat .But I'm always open I never say never

Got fit back in May and found out I was playing the completely wrong bounce and grind in all my wedges. Apparently I don’t know as much about my game as I though when doing the on-line wedge fitting tool. The fitting experience was great and I did learn more about my overall game during my session.

The wedges arrived in early July and I love the look and feel of these clubs. So far the results have been great. A little more work to get them dialed in and I think they’re going to be fantastic for my game. Getting a fitting was so valuable for getting the right wedges for my play.

I had a full bag fitting with Lucas Bro when the Tour Van came to Brandon, FL many years ago and was fitted with three Vokeys. I have used the same loft/grind combinations since then. Just added the SM9’s to my bag this week!

In November, 2020, I took a trip form NJ to visit my brother in California. I first drove from LAX to La Jolla to play Torrey Pines, then next day 30 minutes north to TPI in Oceanside, CA where I spent 3 hours getting fit for 4 wedges by Bob Vokey and Joey Saewitz. If you can afford it, it was the most unbelievable experience. TPI is better than Disneyland if you play golf, and they treat you like a tour pro. The facility is top notch, and Bob Vokey is one of the nicest most genuine guys I have ever met. However, nothing is more nerve wracking than standing with Bob Vokey and having him ask you to hit some chip shots onto an elevated green from 30 yards with the pin 6 feet from the front. I even dropped one in and Bob signed the ball for me! These wedges have reduced my GHIN from 16 to 12, and the lower wedges are incredible in the sand and deep rough. No more worrying about greenside bunkers, I get out every time and near the cup. Bob suggested custom grinds, so all of the wedges are raw. And I got to customize each wedge with stampings, color fills, ferrule, and shaft band. Best experience ever in golf!! I also went back to TPI a month ago and updated my pitching wedge with Joey Saewitz for a little more distance. Thank you Bob and Joey!

I was fitted several years back when I lived in Indiana. I now reside in Virginia Beach VA. I really need to get re-fitted. Conditions here are different plus all the work I have done to improve my swing. Of course, I am receiving encouragement from my brother. He plans on closeting his cally wedges and taking ownership of my old Vokey’s.

Yes! Went to the Vokey experience at Pinehurst a few years ago. Well worth it.
  22. Yes, last year when I had my full bag fitting with Kevin at Sleepy Hollow. Total difference in my short game, and lots of dots from sandies!
