Iron shaft fitting

    Hello, I would like some more information on the best shaft for my swing/desired ball flight for some irons in looking at ordering from the Titleist website.

    Short answer - if there is a Titleist fitting within 100 miles of you, get fit.

    Titleist offers several dozen shafts and more than 7 iron heads because there is one combination that is as different as there are TT members. Nothing that any one of us finds perfect for ourselves may apply to you.

    Titleist does not offer better pricing to order online than going to a pro shop to get fit. Why guess when spending $1200+ for a full set of irons?

    While perhaps being pedantic or repetitious, the absolute best way is to visit with a qualified trained Titleist fitter who can work you through various shafts as part of your iron fitting. Tell the fitter what you're trying to find in a shaft (flight, launch, etc.) and the majority of the time the two of you can make a reasoned, informed decision as to the best shaft for you. You can then order through the fitter, or direct from Titleist, as long as the shafts are in the website's inventory.

    So many factors come in to play when choosing shaft options. Definitely, let me repeat, definitely go get fit. Don’t let any “tell” you what shaft you need. Titleist offer numerous dates and location. I was compulsive and didn’t wait to join my clubs date. So I went an a location I’d rather not say but it rhymes with Club Champion… great experience but spent 60% more than if I would have taken my specs and orders straight through Titleist.

    Sorry about your experience. Not the first time I have heard this rhyme.

    Getting fit is the only real answer but I would ONLY do it with a Titleist rep or fitter. There is no real way to answer the question outside of looking at specifications on a webpage which will not give you real answers....

    Get fit!!!
    As anyone who has been through a competent fitting will tell you, it's pretty easy to determine which iron model will work best with your swing, but the shaft is the engine that drives the head. Even the description of the shaft performance is pretty basic. We all have a specific swing, and no telling which shaft works best without trying them out. Try to find a fitting with a full cart of shafts. You'll spend more time going through the shafts than anything else.
