Winter is in full swing, which means for many golfers a lot of time spent indoors working on our games, gearing up for the 2026 golf season. To that end, there's no reason to let the scoring clubs suffer. The Vokey Wedge Fitting App, the first of its kind developed for indoor wedge fitting, is specifically designed to enhance the wedge fitting experience for all golfers, and provides quality, precise wedge recommendations to improve wedge play.

The Vokey Wedge Fitting App focuses on data relating to a player’s angle of attack and their shaft lean at impact. Working in concert with the questions previously discussed with a fitter, the Vokey Wedge Fitting App ultimately recommends specific wedge grinds suited to the player’s technique and course conditions.

HOW THE VOKEY WEDGE FITTING APP WORKS

    • The app matches data from a player’s technique to various playing conditions to find the right loft, bounce and grind combination for their wedge setup.

    • Players will hit a series of shots based on the types of shots they will hit in a round of golf, including full swings, pitch shots and greenside shots with an open face.

    • The app then makes recommendations based on how golfers deliver the club differently for various shot types (e.g., full, pitch, open face)

    • Working with an expert Vokey fitter, players receive recommended grinds through an interactive process that typically lasts 10-15 minutes.

The wedge app is as good as any starting point with a live wedge fitting. Other than whether a 54 wedge should be an S or M grind, it recommended my setup. Using other criteria, the app changed the recommended setup. Great!
Other online fitting tools for balls, irons, or drivers rarely ever alter the recommendation from the most common setup. At least for me. For example, another OEM ball vendor sticks to driver club head speed as a primary decision point in the process.
