I say "first" as if I expect to get more in the future... :D

On a 517 yard par-5, I had a 246 yard second shot. I nutted a 3-wood and my Pro V1x landed soft on the green and two-hopped into the cup.

That would be a "2" with THREE circles around it on the score card. WOOT!

Aaron, first let me say congrats on your 'first' Albatross. Although I have not been fortunate to achieve this feat, a week ago I witnessed a double, an Albatross and a hole in one on the same hole by the same person. One of the guys in my foursome Aced the 240 yard par 4 from the senior tees. I am 71 years old and been playing golf for 50+ years, I have come close few times to an ace, I have never in my memory come close to an Albatross.

Congrats!  I've never come close to an albatross on a par 5, but I did come within inches on a Par 4 once.  Personally, I think a double eagle on a par 5 might be even cooler than a hole in one!

In 30+ years of golfing I've never had a hole-in-one. Interestingly enough, the odds of a hole in one are 12,500 to 1. The odds of an albatross are estimated to be 6 million to 1. Yowza!

    Cooler indeed!!!

Congratulations Aaron and well done! Not a lot of people can say they accomplished what you have. Good luck on making your next one!

Thank you to everyone for the congratulatory wishes (is that a term?)

To answer SegaSama's question, it was the 12th hole of The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club's north course, which is located just outside of Portland Oregon. Homepage:  http://www.reservegolf.com/

Funnier still, I played it again yesterday and nearly holed-out for eagle.  Tap-in birdie!  I like that hole... I like it a lot.

    Cheers!

Congrats, Aaron! This is very exciting indeed. Last year I was 220 yards out on a 525 yard par 5 and I hit my 3 hybrid. I kind've hooked it a little (I'm a lefty) and I seen it rolled apon the green and then I told my playing partners that I thought it might have ended up well. We were walking that day and we approach the green and see a ball literally 1 inch away from the hole right up against the lip. I asked my buddies whose it was and they said it wasn't theirs so I checked the ball for my markings and sure enough, it was my Titleist ProV1x. This was the 2nd most exciting eagle I've ever had, my first being a hole-out from 125 yards on a par 5 in a very big junior tournament this past summer. I hope maybe you get another one Aaron!
