Hi Corey, ... interesting question for sure. Last season, whenever I went looking for Pro V PRACTICE balls all I could find were Pro V1X balls. This season it is only PRO V1 balls! The retailer that I visited stated to me that he believed that Titleist just packaged these in specific and limited "production runs".

Whether the information about specific production runs is accurate or not I don't know -- but it would account for why some years its a PRO V1 vs. PRO V1x.

I have never seen the pro v1x in practice balls. I guess I go looking in the off years . Oh well...given that I only use them for chipping and putting ... the performance will be similar enough for practice
