Wanting to test and stick with one golf ball as I have been trying a few different balls lately. Tried the Pro V1 and Pro V1x Yellow. Pro V1 felt the best on iron shots and putting, giving me the confidence that I would like. My dilemma is the Pro V1x went longer and straighter on all drives and held fairways. The Pro V1 seemed to spin more and would tend go of line more on my drives that tend to fade. Some ending off the fairway.
On one par 3 ( I hit two of each ball )Pro V1 hit the green and the Pro V1x went right of the green. Might be pilot error but I played the hole twice same result.
Love driving long and staying on the fairway but the scoring is done with irons and putting.
Any ideas or no such thing as a perfect ball.
I was fit for a Pro V1x last year, but I'm still struggling with the feel on chips and putts. I've always considered myself someone who will go with the data (trackman in this case), but after a year I am still not comfortable with the feel around the green. I'm going to try a Pro V1 this weekend and compare the feel I remember and the feel I experience this weekend. Sometimes my memory is not a good judge - especially when the memory is a year old :)
