I toured ball plant 3 a couple months ago and saw them producing a new ball, the PROV1X RIGHT +. I was wondering if anyone has heard about this and when it might be available?

This is another Custom Performance Option, as is the Left Dot Pro V1. Incrementally higher spin rate than standard Pro V1x, as noted on another golfer forum. Not sure if I can identify it here?

Titleist is always doing R&D on new concepts for all their equipment. They work with their tour pros that may result in a limited Custom Performance Option ball not deemed commercially viable. The left dash X and left dot V are 2 such products. The left dash X is now mainstream. There was a trial of the left dot V last fall but still not in the mainstream. The same may be the case for the right + X. Apparently a higher spin version of the X (opposite signage of the left minus/dash). The other part of the CPO offerings is they are not updated every other year like the standard V/X.

Commercially viable has 2 functions. There is an increase in production costs to have separate lines and if the low run version simply steals sales from the standard product, then is it worthwhile? Will it keep standard product users from moving to brand B? There are already 7 urethane balls, 9 counting Tour Speed. 7-9 more counting all the colors of non-urethane balls. Retail shelf space is an issue.

Titleist may release some additional lines, but I could see them as only Direct to Consumer sales through My Titleist.com. Creating inventory for low volume balls across a couple of thousand authorized dealers may end up being more volume than actual annual sales.

    - means less with Titleist, and + is more in their golf ball program.

I agree with Don O, most likely more spin in a premium ball.
  5. I have played this ball recently and it is amazing, the higher spin rate is crazy great. It may not be right for many but it works for my game.

This is a very popular ball on tour, maybe we will get lucky and see these on retail shelves next year!
