Hey Team Titleist! We’re excited to announce the arrival of the new Performance Alignment aid available on Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls – inspired by the way many of the world’s best mark their Titleist.

A long, straight line is among the most common golf ball markings across all levels of competitive golf and plays a significant role in helping players improve their aim and accuracy. Performance Alignment provides golfers this tour-proven marking straight out of the sleeve.

Titleist golf ball players Celine BoutierMatt FitzpatrickWyndham Clark and Allisen Corpuz have all won major championships recently using an alignment line on their Pro V1 or Pro V1x.

"It just takes away that little bit of doubt that you might have when you put your putter down behind the ball and you aren’t 100% sure where you’re pointing it,” said Pro V1x player and 2009 Open Champion Stewart Cink . “We work really hard on where we’re starting the ball on our putts. And the alignment line helps make sure it takes that one piece of variability out.”

If you’re interested in learning more, check out some of the frequently asked questions we answered below:

    What is Performance Alignment?

Performance Alignment is a custom-printed alignment marking now available on Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls. The marking – featuring a subtle arrow shape, 105 degrees in length – is inspired by the long, straight line that many of the world’s best to use to mark their Titleist.

Where is the Performance Alignment line printed on the golf ball?

Performance Alignment is printed on each golf ball opposite the Pro V1 or Pro V1x side stamp.

Is Performance Alignment available in different colors?

Yes. It is offered in four colors: black, red, blue and green.

What was the reason for offering Performance Alignment?

From listening to golfers of all skill levels, one of the most common additions to a player’s Titleist is a long, straight line. Performance Alignment provides golfers with this tour-proven marking straight out of the sleeve.

Which Titleist tour pros use a line?

Among the many Team Titleist members who use a line on their Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf ball are Viktor HovlandLydia KoWill ZalatorisCeline BoutierJustin ThomasWyndham ClarkMatt FitzpatrickAllisen CorpuzBilly HorschelDanielle KangSungjae ImPatty TavatanakitSahith TheegalaJoaquin NiemannMito PereiraLeona MaguireGaby LopezHarris English and K.H. Lee.

“I use a black line, because I cannot putt without this,” said Pro V1 player Viktor Hovland. “I literally cannot aim.”

“I’ve just never been good at just standing over the ball and being able to aim that way,” Hovland said. “I’ve found it’s really helped my putting, especially on the short ones, when there’s not too much break involved. I just did a blind test with a line on and then without a line, and I just aimed it miles better with a line on.”

Which models are offered with Performance Alignment?

Performance Alignment is currently available on Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls.

Are there other alignment aid options available?

Yes. We continue to offer a wide range of alignment aid designs through the golf ball customizer on Titleist.com.

    When is Performance Alignment available?

Performance Alignment golf balls are available now through Titleist.com in the United States and Canada only.

Have to admit...not a fan. Makes the ball look cheap. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Hopefully the normal ProV1x will still be around for years to come.
  3. Love it.

Finally! Great news! Any chance they'll be coming to the left dash or any other Titleist balls?

Hi,not to sound negative because that's a great idea for the line but with shipping and tax comes to almost $70 so sadly leaves me out at that price :(

My pro shop has them. I agree with the shipping costs making it too expensive. Check with some local pro shops.

If it is any help, I think the shipping is free with $175+ orders (3 dozen).

I’m retired so I just manually extend the side stamping with a felt tip and a ball template. Normally spend about 5 minutes to do 2 sleeves of balls.

The new Performance Alignment option is great except it replaces the personalization option. For the last few years (since cally came out with the alignment) I have been trying to create an alignment with personalization using BERNIE or some form of that. I also use the play number as my birth year to ID my ball easier. The Performance Alignment option eliminates those option when I order the 4 dozen each March. Have been doing this for more than 10 years now. You could put the new Performance Alignment on the PRO V1 side of the ball which would leave the blank side for personalizing. Example =======PRO V1 ========== with the equals as your solid lines.

Annoyingly I’ve been waiting for the 3 line AVX enhanced alignment to come to the prov1, the closest thing to triple track I’ve seen, looks like it won’t be coming now.

Will these be available at retailers? I hate how long ball shipping is taking these days.

For all the left dash, AVX, and yellow ball users, there won’t be any leaked information until officially announced. …If ever. Depends on the popularity with the 2 big lines. All the other side stamps are still custom orders direct from Titleist. Don’t expect to see them in stores anytime soon.

I just ordered a couple dozen ProV1 enhanced alignment golf balls. Love the idea of having the lines already on the ball as the line tends to smear when I use my sharpie.

Guess I am old fashioned and never learned to use a line. I just plumb bob, set up my line with the line on my putter and strike the nice clean white side of the ball. If the ball is balanced well, and with the Prov1s, the are, it will roll on line. The only thing extra I have on my ball are three very small blue dots in a triangle next to my number 8. Just me and what works for one does not always work for all. Hakuna matata.

the alignment line is nice. They were part of my T-Series gift package. Used it for the first time last weekend and love them. I'd been using the plastic cup & sharpie for quite some time and this is much better. You have a solid line that won't fade with wet turf.

My only question was that it's more of an arrow than a line. Am i supposed to have the ball follow the arrow? I did last weekend and made a few putts!!!

  19. Found some at my local pro shop. The line is great, I didn’t use a line because the imperfections would drive me nuts, but these lines are easy to align.

Personally I like general alignment versus drawing a line. Found I got too mechanical when using a line, so I actually just use the script “Titleist” on the ball as my general alignment for putts and have had many more drop since switching. maybe it’s just seeing my favorite golf company name before it set it rolling…
  22. I tested 72 _Prov1X RCT virgin balls with a gyroscopic spin marker to determine whether the putting alignment arrows corresponded to the equatorial line. NONE of the sampled balls putting lines paralleled the spin balancer equatorial line. 6/72 balls showed sinusoidal lines indicating core imbalance. Does Titleist spin balance their balls before placing the putting alignment stripe, or is it placed haphazardly?
