I see it much like going back to the days of the original NXT. They just had the NXT, then split into the NXT Tour and NXT Tour S. I feel like ever since then, the balls were extremely similar and were competing for the same market. Seems much simpler to have the single offering in the intermediate price point.

True to a point. I always used Pro V1 and last year tried the Tour Speed for the winter but found they scuffed very easily. Advancing years has meant by swing speed has reduced significantly and I am now trying the srxn Q Star Tour which is a three piece urethane low compression ball that works well for me. How would the Tour Soft compare?

Ultimately, it's up to each individual to decide what works for them and what they would play. ProV1x is best suited for my game and the ball I play. If I was not using a premium ball, the Tour Soft would be my next choice. I do not loose many balls so the investment in a premium ball matched for my game is worth it to me. The technology behind golf ball manufacturing has certainly narrowed the gap between all manufacturers over the last several years but my loyalty and preference will always be towards a Titleist offering.

I went through the progression of the NXT golf balls and enjoyed each version until the NXT S. At that point I felt like the ball was still a bit firm and had more roll out on approach shots than I cared to have.

Plus, my swing and game was improving from a long, long, layoff from playing. So, I went to the Pro V1 and have not looked back. Like Dale said, it works for me, and I get out of it what I want my game to be. I do lose some, but that's on me for not playing better. Lol

I did like many years ago the DT off the tee & around the green. But didn't like the feel for putting & mid irons. That's when I went to the NXT

The most important difference between the Tour Speed and AVX to me is the price. When I started using the Tour Speed last year I was looking for a little higher performance ball but I still lose too many to spend top dollar. I know that's on me to keep improving my game, but in the meantime I'm not going to spend $55 on a dozen balls that are going to end up in the water. I really liked Tour Speed but I'm sure I will eventually find another ball I'm as comfortable with. Any chance there will be a new ball to replace it? Or do I just have to find the next closest thing?
