Will Titleist be offering the KBS C-Tapers in a R+? If not will you soft step the C-Tapers Stiff? Which shaft would have a closer frequency to the S300, the C-Taper R+ or the C-Stiff?

The C Taper R+ will not be a standard offering, but you can order them.

Since they won't be standard will you soft step the C-Tapers Stiff? Which shaft would have a closer frequency to the S 300, the C-Taper R+ or the C-Taper Stiff?

If you do want them, you should order the R+ instead of trying to soft step a stiff.

Can you explain why he should order the R+ over the soft stepped stiff? Im trying to decide which one myself.

  6. I Play the C typre shafts. I have played the KBS Tour 120 Stiff. this shaft rating is about 6.3 compared to PX The C Typre shafts play a felx stiff on the KBS Tour. The R+ plays at about 5.8. I have changed to the R+ and the shafts play very well for 6 iron ss of 85 to 88 m/h. I played them in MP 63. I just found that as a have a low to mid ball fleight I struggle to hit a good flight with Long irons. I have now fitted these shafts into a set of AP2's 710. this is a grear set up for me as the shafts perform great in a head that gives me a little hogher flight. I have never been a fan of the AP2's with the DG shafts but with these they perform great. I have put my KBS Tours back in the MP63's and this or my handicap 3 and ball flight works very well. I now have two great set's. cannot make up my mind what works best. I have always played blades but being 51 and still playing competitive golf, I love the bid more foregiveness of the AP2'a and the ease of hitting the long irons. the MP 63's are great but require more effort on the longer irons. Last bid of advice. a lot of people play blades/MB irons for the looks and the ego and they play their shafts to stiff. as you should hit your irons at 80 to 85% of effort, go softer shafts,go CB irons and enjoy the game. If Tour players can play AP2's and CB irons with great success, why sould our ego's get in the way of good golf scores.

The only reason was that he requested the R+ originally and his second choice was the soft stepped S.

Hi Cathi, I placed an online order last night on TGW.com for 712mb with KBS CTaper X and I just wanted to make sure that the 3-iron and 4-iron can be soft-stepped twice. Alternatively, S+ is my preferred flex for the 3,4, and 5 irons but this flex wasn't an option on TGW's website. Would it be possible for Titleist to use this flex for these 3 clubs from my order? The remaining clubs (6i-9i) can stay as per my order X-flex soft-stepped once.

    Thanks for your help.

  9. I also plan on ordering a set of titleist cb from TGW but don't see a KBS c taper R+ option? Where can I custom order this flex? Thanks
