Hi, I took a suggestion from you guys and choked up 1/2 inch on my 910 D3.  I did improve my center contact but I have a question about where I am striking the ball on the club face.  I put tape on the face and found that my strikes are predominantly center-top.  When you look at the club face, it has 5 horizontal lines from top to bottom.  My strikes are in the center of the face but near the top two lines.  What does this tell me?  Teed too high?  Hitting under the ball?  And if anyone knows what this means, what is the fix?  Thanks

If that spot is the center of your impact, then it is probably ok, if it is the bottom of your impact then it is probably too high on the face.

The idea of hitting above center of the face is for giving a higher launch and lower spin.....more distance, which works fine for some people and not for others. If the driver is fit to your swing, swing speed, approach angle.....blah blah blah, then it will work best hitting the center of the face.

Without seeing your swing and ball flight, I can't tell why or how to fix, or even if there is a problem.

Try teeing it lower. I have found that a 1 1/2" tee height works great for me with most 460 cc drivers. If you're choking up 1/2" on your driver, you may want to consider cutting the club 1/2" and changing to a lightweight grip (such as Winn Excel RF). My driver (a 2K7 Burner) has a shaft length of 45" and Winn Excel RF midsize grip and it works great.

well I guess that raises  the question  of how high do you have  it tee'd. my o

d pga instructor used to say only half the ball should be visable above the face.

That is what I was taught in the good ole days of wooden drivers. If I teed the ball where the bottom of it was even with the crown of the driver (like what some recommend these days), I would do a Ralph Kramden ("to the moon, Alice! Pow!).

The strikes on the center-top are okay as long as you feel like you are not popping the ball up. If you are not seeing any ball marks on the crown of your 910 then the high impact is okay. If you saw the season ending episode pt1 of School of golf then you possibly saw Martin Hall point out that the ideal impact is high sweetspot. The only fix I can think of right now i'd hold your driver off the ground at address and use a lower tee. I have a Callaway Ft Iz driver (which has a relatively thin face unlike the 910) and put the ball on a 2 1/2 inch tee so half the ball is above the crown and then I set the driver down. If I want to hit it low I will hover the clubhead over the ground but teeing the ball so half the ball is over the crown means if you really want to pop the ball up then you must take a divot with a driver which is not good. Hope this helps
