So I'm looking into getting some more playable golf clubs. I have heard a lot about the AP2's and how workable yet forgiving they are. However, I have heard and seen similar things with the CB's. Opinions??

Jimmy, the AP2 irons will be the more forgiving of the two. The CBs have lower forgiveness, but are advertised to be more workable; however, I have the AP1s 712s, which are advertised to not be workable at all, and I have no trouble shaping shots. It's all a matter of preference to you, obviously. The AP2s look amazing, though!

When I got fitted last year, we came up with a solution. I had the old 690CB's, so I was looking forward in getting the new 712CB's and with some MB combo on the short irons. It didn't turn out quite like I thought it would. The fitter and I decided that I was better off with a combo set of 4-5 irons in the 712AP2's and 6-9 712CB's. I had to consider in getting more forgiveness on the long irons, and the AP2's were right for me. Hope this helps.
Take the time in hitting them and finding out which clubs will best suit you.
Good luck and Happy Golfing.

Jimmy, this is the situation I am in as well, I currently play the AP2's (712) and very much like them...however I recently hit the MB's and CB's....each one is slightly different forgiving and provides more/less workability. I would experiment and see what works best for you. I am considering a mixed set going forward of these lines...ie..8-PW in MB's. 5-7 in CB's and possibly long irons in AP2 or 712U .....just a thought. They all look similar at address so compared to other manufactuer's club you get a similar look at address throughout these products. Just my two cents...Good Luck!
