  1. Hi TT,

I bought the Scotty Cameron weight tool to change out the weights in my Scotty Cameron California and they won't come out. (Have had 3 different fairly strong guys try) I was wondering if there's a trick to it or if they put glue in to hold the weights. I don't really want to send it in to the custom shop since it will take a month and I have tournaments either. What should I do!?!?

Trey, Loctite is applied to the threads of the weights to make sure they don't work loose. 1st time removal can be tough. A vice with a rubber clamp is usually enough so that you don't waste energy stabilizing the club by hand and trying to twist the weight. A very helpful tip is warming the weights to soften the Loctite. A heat gun will do it but keep the time it's on the club to 15-30 seconds. Better less heat than too much. Even a home hair dryer set on high may provide enough to loosen things up. If you're using the authentic little cylinder tool from Scotty Cameron, you'll get better leverage if you attach some vice grips to it so you can push and twist at the same time.
