  1.  I am 69 years old and I play golf 3 times per week. My handicap is 15.  I find that my swing speed is slower than it was a few

years ago, and I've lost some distance with all my clubs.  Our club pro is a Titleist guy, I plan on a club fitting in early March of

2014.  I am working to increase my swing speed and  thats why we are waiting until March to do the club fitting.  I want to get

the ball up and maximize distance.   jbogdan@nycap.rr.com

You'll probably want the new AP1 714s. Get fit for the right shaft though. Don't buy off the rack. Good luck.

I'm in the same boat as you Joseph, although I only play once a week, and sometimes two. I'll be 65yrs. this coming Friday (Nov.22) and my HDC is about 15. I've noticed considerable lost in distance to the point of almost a full club. I've mostly chalked it up to getting older, and a little stiffer, so I can't turn as far as I used to. I think you're making a good choice in getting fitted in the spring, and even wiser choice with Titleist. I got a new set of 712 AP1's this past spring, and now I'm trying to work on being more accurate with my shots by using one more club than I used to so I can swing a little slower, and more deliberate in stead of trying to get the distance that I used to by swinging harder. Good luck with your fitting, and enjoy your new Titleist clubs.
  4. If I were you, I would go one shaft flex lower. It makes the club lighter, so you can come down at maximum speed.

Look at mixed sets.  AP1's for longer irons and AP2's for your scoring irons.  Talk to your fitter about every possibility and see what works best for you.
