I continue to be amazed with the distance the tour pros hit their irons. Nuking 8 irons 175 yards, 6 irons 200 yards, etc. I can hit 300 yard drives on non-tour fairways, yet I struggle to hit an 8 iron over 165, and my 6 iron absolute max is 180. I can swing it pretty hard, but when comparing their swings, tempo, lag, etc, it doesnt seem they are generating that fast of a swing speed, and doesnt seem much greater than my own.
Are their balls different from ours? Are their iron heads somehow different? Shafts different? I'm told that "our" clubs are very different than theirs, but in what ways?
